More than 230 million users spend an average of 170 minutes each month on Twitter. The social network generates 500 million tweets every day. If you want to know who has the best information on wireless technology, you’ve come to the right place. Here is our list of the “must-follow” Twitter accounts for people interested in wireless technology.

When putting together a list of people to follow on Twitter, the goal should be quality over quantity. Even then, you can end up following hundreds, if not thousands, of accounts. But there are a few you’ll want to follow more closely, and you can do so by adding them to a specific list.

Let’s Start with the Basics

For the busy Twitter user who wants to keep his or her follows to a minimum, here are three required ones. If you follow only these, you can still expect quite a bit of useful information.

@WirelessWoman: Of course, I’m going to mention my own Twitter account! As the virtual CTO for BearCom, I offer a daily dose of wireless wisdom.

@BearCom: Much more than just company updates, the BearCom Twitter feed shares helpful information on a variety of wireless mobility solutions.

@TWW_Magazine: The online edition of our news magazine, Today’s Wireless World, is relatively new to Twitter but is very active, providing wireless news and insights.

Next Steps

BearCom has a number of partners that are active on Twitter, and many of them have a great social media presence. If you want to add some depth to your list of wireless experts, you definitely need to follow these companies.

@MotoSolutions: Motorola Solutions, the global leader and innovator in integrated communications solutions, provides two-way radios and point-to-point transport systems, among other products. Motorola Solutions is extremely active on Twitter with numerous secondary accounts directed towards specific areas:

@VertexStandard: Vertex Standard is primarily engaged in radio communication products for land, marine, airband, and amateur applications. It also is new to Twitter but provides quite a punch with each tweet, offering valuable eVerge information and links to demos.

@SpaceSuiters: David Clark provides headsets that offer total freedom, mobility, and enhanced safety in any high-noise environment. It posts a lot of photos and videos on its Twitter account, creating a window into the long, proud tradition of this company.

@SoneticsCorp: Sonetics is a leading global supplier of team communication systems for challenging work environments. While fairly new to Twitter, it offers a good glimpse into the company and the work it does.

@IMPACTRadio1: IMPACT Radio Accessories manufactures a complete line of quality two-way radio accessories, including surveillance kits, speaker-microphones, throat microphones, bone induction microphones, headsets, chargers, and replacement parts. IMPACT does a great job interacting with others through Twitter.

@Firetide: Firetide is the leading provider of multiservice wireless mesh broadband networks for municipal and industrial applications. It does a good job of providing its latest press coverage, so you won’t miss a thing.

@BridgeWave: BridgeWave Communications delivers highly reliable, cost-effective gigabit wireless solutions for enterprise, service providers, and government entities, including municipal and military applications. BridgeWave interacts frequently with its followers, so feel free to ask questions.

@CambiumNetworks: Cambium is a market leader in point-to-multipoint wireless backhaul and access solutions. It has nearly 10 followers for every one account it follows in turn. That makes it almost a celebrity! As a friendly and active retweeter, Cambium has social media figured out.

@UbNt: Ubiquiti Neworks designs and manufactures technology platforms for emerging markets. With a wide range of wireless wisdom, they really make the most of their account.

Still Not Satisfied?

If you want more wireless insight for your Twitter account, you can go one step further and follow some of the thought leaders within these companies. Here our eight of our favorite people on Twitter.
